MEDITERRANEA by Pedro Cano
The shores of Egypt and Asia Minor, Split, the Aegean and the Balearic Islands and even Sicily, Naples and Venice: the artist represents these symbolic places filtered through the memories of a life with the Mediterranean sea always in the background.
In this intensely emotional tribute to the sea and his “wandering” through the places, Pedro Cano dedicates to each city or island six paintings: watercolours on paper and put together to form a unified composition. A special tribute is dedicated to Naples: an artistic and utterly unprecedented reinterpretation of the ninety numbers of the popular “smorfia”.
