Setting-up
Starting from the exhibition "The Places of the Imperial Consent. The Forum of Augustus. The Forum of Trajan", the aptitude of the spaces of the Trajan's Markets emerged to tell simultaneously the evolution of Roman architecture in its various aspects and the history of the city, through the undoubted link between the complex and the forensic archaeological area.
At the same time, the limits of "showing" individual fragments have emerged, which although described by the didactic equipment, can only remotely evoke the complexity of the public buildings decorated with them. Hence the innovative idea of creating a museum dedicated to Roman architecture whose setting-up highlights the ancient volumetry and the functionality of the forensic buildings.
